"Tour de coast"
Saturday marked the 27th year of the Tour of the Unknown Coast. The tour is the North Coast’s premier road race, considered by some cyclists to be Humboldt County’s version of the Tour de France.
There are several races for riders of all abilities, ranging from the 10-mile farm tour to the century, which is one of the toughest 100-mile routes in the country.
Tour director Vic Armijo uses the race to promote cycling in the area and raise funds for local nonprofits.
